The article presents the state of cardiovascular system of smokers with different period of tobacco smoking. From, the result of our studies, we can conclude that smoking tobacco results in a significant increase in heart rate, systolic blood pressure, a significant reduction in P, PQ and QT times, an insignificant increase in diastolic blood pressure and a decrease in QRS duration.1 Background: Tobacco smoking is one of the most important risk factors of coronary heart disease (CHD). Hence, smoking cessation is considered pivotal in the prevention of CHD. The current study aimed to evaluate smoking cessation patterns and determine factors associated with smoking cessation in patients with established CHD.
