AbstractIndia is the world’s second largest producer of fruits and vegetables. Besides, large quantities of spices, condiments, medicinal and aromatic plant products and flowers are produced in the country. Horticulture deals with the production and processing of fruit crops, vegetables, ornamentals, medicinal, aromatic plants, mushrooms, spices, plantations and tuber crops. Uttarakhand faces numerous hurdles in agriculture sector like marginal and scattered land holdings, tough geographic and topographic conditions, rainfed agriculture, and lack of proper infrastructure and market linkages, lower level of productivity and input usage, migration and lack of entrepreneurship. Present paper aim is to discuss the training needs of hortipreneurs.
