Abstract

Fast moving consumer goods sector is the 4th largest sector in India. This includes food products house hold products and personal care products. All together FMCG companies are providing the huge employment. The growth of the FMCG sector depends upon the consumers demand and as well as supply of the product. The present paper is an attempt to study the impact of GST on FMCG sector by analyzing pre and post GST condition of the said sector. A comparative analysis of selected FMCG companies has been done to get a comprehensive picture of how GST has implied on different set of FMCG product groups. This study has also tried to give an answer to the question whether GST has a positive or negative impact on FMCG sector of India.
