Intraoperative use of Octreotide for a patient with Carcinoid syndrome

Abstract

 Carcinoid syndrome poses many challenges intraoperatively, including hypertension, hypotension and bronchospasm. These complicatons decrease in magnitude with the routine use of Octreotide. We report the perioperative use of Octreotide in a 37 yr old man, with carcinoid tumor in terminal ileum, who underwent undergoing emergency laparotomy for subacute intestinal obstruction
